What are you going to do during the summer holidays?
I’m going to go to the beach, I love swimming and
having a cold beer in a beach bar. You can come with me if you want. Don’t
forget to bring some snacks and maybe a few cans of beer! If you prefer, we can
go to a beach bar and order some food and drinks. I am going to visit La
Laguna, it’s a wonderful city. Have you been there? You should. Did you know it
was declared World Heritage Site? You should go sightseeing, it’s worth it!. We
can go to Garachico, too. This beautiful town was destroyed by a volcano a long
time ago! And I am going to organise a barbecue, would you like to come?
Remember to bring comfortable shoes, because we are going to dance all day! You
don’t need to bring any food, don’t worry. Avoid drinking too much if you have
to drive. It’s better if you take it easy. Canarian food is tastier if you
drink Canarian wine. In Icod, white wine is better than red wine, in my
opinion. And finally, this summer I’m going to try to be happy, after this terrible
pandemic, and I’m going to hug and kiss my friends and all the people that I
love.

Hi, Paddy!
How about organising a barbecue? It sounds
fun, doesn't it? Let's prepare something cool! Shall we buy some wine? Would
you like to invite a few friends? Why don’t we call our classmates?
Well, first of all, we need to buy a lot of
meat. Also, half a kilo of red peppers, half a kilo of tomatoes and a few tins
of tuna for the salads. Shall we meet at Hiperdino at 5 o’clock?
I have decided not to buy any snacks. In my
opinion, we should eat some cheese because it is healthier than crisps. Remember
to get a few bottles of Canarian wine. I love wine but I don’t mind drinking
beer if the weather is very hot.
If you want, I can bring some ice to keep
the cans of beer really cold. Do you think twelve cans of beer are too few? And
don't forget to bring some cartons of juice for the kids!
It’s important to bring some olive oil from
home. And a little salt, not too much, just a little.
I don’t mind cleaning and washing the dishes,
but everybody has to collaborate. Men have to stop drinking and children have
to stop playing because they have to help. And we should avoid drinking too
much because we have to drive back home. Children enjoy playing outside. We can
try to play a football match!
